For more than 26 years, we’ve been dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable, and safe home adjustment and maintenance services for older Australians, people with disabilities, and those receiving My Aged Care support. At Maroochy Home Assist (MHA), we’re committed to helping your clients live safely, comfortably and independently. Partnering closely with health professionals, we deliver practical, tailored home adjustment solutions that meet individual needs. Trusted by OTs across the Sunshine Coast, we’re known for reliable service, quality workmanship and outcomes that genuinely improve lives.
Clients registered with My Aged Care can access subsidised labour through the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) within the Sunshine Coast region, paying only for materials. We also support Home Care Package and NDIS participants across Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast, Noosa and Gympie. For eligible pensioner concession card holders under 65 who are not NDIS participants, Home Assist Secure (HAS) may provide subsidised labour and our team will guide you through the process.

Our OT Training and Professional Development Days offer hands-on, practical learning in home adjustments and assistive technology. You’ll meet our team, explore customised solutions and gain clear insight into assessment pathways, collaborative planning and implementation strategies. These sessions are designed to build confidence, sharpen prescribing accuracy and improve client outcomes and places are limited, so early registration is strongly encouraged.

SUPPORT PROGRAMS
HOME ASSIST SECURE (HAS)
Home Assist Secure (HAS) provides subsidised assistance for minor home maintenance and safety modifications, supporting eligible Queenslanders to live safely, comfortably and independently in their own homes. The program is available to residents aged 60 years and over, as well as people of any age living with a disability.
To be eligible, applicants must reside within the former Maroochy Shire area, hold a Pensioner Concession Card, and be unable to carry out the required work themselves due to limited skills, health considerations or safety concerns. Assistance is also available where the works cannot be accessed through alternative programs such as the Commonwealth Home Support Program or the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.
Subsidised services may include essential safety and maintenance support such as smoke alarm checks, changing light globes, minor plumbing and electrical work, installation of grab rails, and fitting hand-held shower heads all designed to enhance safety, accessibility and peace of mind at home.
COMMONWEALTH HOME SUPPORT PROGRAM (CHSP)
CHSP is a service for people aged 65 years and over or 50 and over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders who wish to remin living independently in their own home and is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health, that is supported by My Aged Care. It is designed to provide a relatively smaller amounts of support to a large number of frail older people to health them to remain living at home.

ARE YOU ELIGIBLE?
If you’re looking for a little extra support to stay safe and comfortable at home, subsidised assistance for home maintenance and adjustments may be available to you. To be eligible, you’ll need to be aged 65 years or over, or 50 years and over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Getting started is simple. Register with My Aged Care by calling 1800 200 422 or visiting https://www.myagedcare.gov.au to arrange your assessment. When speaking with their team, be sure to let them know that your preferred provider is Maroochy Home Assist. We’re here to support you every step of the way and help make the process as smooth as possible.
SUBSIDISED SERVICES
Our services are delivered based on trade availability and coverage within your area. If subsidised assistance is not available at the time of your request, we will always aim to support you by providing contact details for reputable local tradespeople wherever possible, ensuring you still have access to reliable and trusted help.
We offer a wide range of minor home adjustments designed to improve safety, accessibility and everyday comfort. These include grab rail and handrail installation, handheld shower heads, small timber access ramps, rubber wedges, key safe installation, minor carpentry, appliance repairs, plumbing and electrical works, fly-screen replacement, changing light globes, smoke alarm checks and battery replacement, and more all delivered with a focus on quality workmanship and practical outcomes that support independent living.
MAROOCHY HOME ASSIST (MHA) IS A PROVIDER FOR NDIS
National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Home Adjustment and Maintenance Services are proudly provided by Maroochy Home Assist across the Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast, Noosa and Gympie Regional Council areas. These services are funded through the Australian Government, however the content presented here does not necessarily represent the views or policies of the Australian Government.
Our home adjustment services are designed to support independence, safety and everyday living. We can assist with a range of modifications including removal of baths or hobs to create level-access bathrooms, installation of large access ramps, stairlifts, bidets, widened doorways, grabrails and handrails. Additional practical solutions such as ramps, rubber wedges, key safes and weighted shower curtains on tracks (available in various sizes) are also available to help make your home more comfortable and accessible.
